You can ride for miles and miles from Ponce Inlet to Daytona Beach on the hard white sand. Rent a beach cruiser nearby for bicycling on the beach. The closest bike shop from the Surfside Club vacation condo is Bob’s Bike Shop, 3855 South Ridgewood Avenue, Port Orange, (386) 761-4691.
Watch shorebirds on the beach from the Surfside Club condo balcony or visit one of the many excellent birding locations near Daytona beach, including Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

The famous wide, long, white sand beaches of Daytona Beach Shores make this an ideal place for walking. Early morning and evening are the best times for walking on the beach. Cars are allowed on the beach from sunrise to sunset November 1 through April 30, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 1 through October 31.
There is a year-round $20 per day per vehicle access fee to drive on the beach; this includes one same-day re-entry. Just south of the Sunglow Pier vehicle access is prohibited, making it a perfect place for walking any time of the day. To see a map of beach access points and traffic-free zones, click here.
