The famous wide, long, white sand beaches of Daytona Beach Shores make this an ideal place for walking. Early morning and evening are the best times for walking on the beach. Cars are allowed on the beach from sunrise to sunset November 1 through April 30, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 1 through October 31.
There is a year-round $20 per day per vehicle access fee to drive on the beach; this includes one same-day re-entry. Just south of the Sunglow Pier vehicle access is prohibited, making it a perfect place for walking any time of the day. To see a map of beach access points and traffic-free zones, click here.
